Making the Impossible Possible

By Niki Franco

“Making mistakes, experimenting, and building anew are one of the best parts of being an artist – a process that has challenged me beyond my own individualistic aspirations and to consider the implications of what art I create, for whom, and alongside whom. I would say these moments brought me and my comrades closer to our humanity, our fuller sense of self. As Toni Morrison has declared, “All good art is political. There is none that isn’t. And the ones that try hard not to be political are political by saying, ‘we love the status quo.’”
